The spread of COVID 19 cases has changed the community's life patterns, especially in the management of individual food. This has resulted in an increasing problem of obesity among Malaysians due to the long period of quarantine, which has significantly affected individuals, whether athletes or individuals, especially the physical, mental, and health aspects of an individual. Monitoring calories and nutrient intake is an important practice in life. Daily recording of the food calories intake consumed daily using manual methods such as food journals is a way that dietitians encourage. Ineffective food intake plans will affect the health of individuals due to a lack of nutrients from certain classes of food or disease suffering unnoticed. There are several challenges faced when recording daily calorie intake i.e. loss of discipline and community commitment to record daily calorie intake and individual errors to record daily calorie intake based on estimated food weight. Therefore, this prototype IoT-based smart calorie counter system to help athletes or individuals who want to manage their caloric intake and nutrients from food intake in life. In this study, the smart calorie counter system with an IoT-based printed circuit board (PCB) is designed and produced , and finally integrate with software and hardware . The smart calories counter prototype with PCB that has been designed to improve the stability and accuracy of individual food calories calculations. This smart calories counter system has five parts to weigh different types of food using five load cells which are connected to the HX711 module. Individual identification will be recorded on the RFID reader, and the NodeMCU ESP32 is intended to send the data to the MySQL and ThingSpeak databases through the proposed communication technology, Wi-Fi on a two-way basis. Furthermore, Wi-Fi configuration management methods and integration with ThingSpeak databases in the system have been applied. In conclusion, the PCB for the smart calories counter prototype was designed, produced, and able to work.
