The invention relates to the field of solar energy, particularly dye-sensitized solar cells. More particularly, the invention relates to a simplified method for synthesizing a titanium dioxide paste suitable for use in the fabrication of dye-sensitized solar cells.
The present invention provides a method for producing titanium dioxide paste that requires fewer processing steps and less equipment. Particularly, the method does not compromise the functionality of the titanium dioxide paste in optoelectronic device applications. The present invention also provides optoelectronic devices fabricated using the titanium dioxide paste produced with the simplified method disclosed herein.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a simplified method for producing a titanium dioxide paste that is suitable for use in fabrication of optoelectronic devices including photoelectrodes for dye-sensitized solar cells. Unlike the conventional method whereby the product of hydrothermal growth is further processed in multiple steps before a titanium dioxide paste can be obtained, the method provided herein involves just a single step after the hydrothermal growth step. Particularly, a titanium dioxide paste is obtainable by concentrating the product of hydrothermal growth under stirring at a specified temperature for a specified duration.
