The present invention generally relates to the field of coring. More particularly, the present invention relates to a downhole core fluid analyser for determining fluid properties of a core sample during tripping, and a method thereof.
The downhole core fluid analyser of the present invention may be characterised in that, the downhole core fluid analyser comprising a triple tube core barrel comprising an outer barrel, an inner barrel and a liner housed within the said inner barrel; a gas-liquid separator mounted on the inner barrel configured for separating the gas component (part) from a fluid exiting the core sample contained in the liner to escape through a single opening formed thereon; a transducer chamber comprising a pressure transducer and a temperature transducer deployed on the gas-liquid separator configured for determining pressure and temperature of the gas component escaped thereof, respectively; a flow meter mounted on the transducer chamber configured for measuring a gas volume of the gas component thereof, wherein the flow meter converts the gas volume incrementally measured thereof to a surface volume using the pressure and the temperature determined thereof, wherein the flow meter is selected from a group comprising a mass flow meter, a gear pump and any combinations thereof; and a gas analyser mounted on the flow meter configured for analysing the gas component thereof, wherein the gas analyser is selected from a group comprising a densitometer, a micro gas chromatograph and any combinations thereof.
